Oil, Canadian Climate	Ducati, as you know, are special. There are a few things you need to know before changing the oil on your 996. Be sure to see Ducati Oil Viscosity and Dry Clutch Considerations. Ducati official recommendation: Shell Advance Ultra 4 20w50 Capacity: 3.8 litres / 1 gallon (I’m assuming that the motorcycle will not be ridden below 0 degrees Celsius) Best: 20w50 Motul 7100 Ester 4T Synthetic Oil Better: 15w50 Motul 5100 Ester 4T Technosynthetic Oil Good: 20w50 Motul 3000 4T Mineral Oil Other Alternatives Mobil 1 15w50 (NOT motorcycle specific, synthetic) Royal Purple Max Cycle 20w50 (Motorcycle specific, synthetic) Lucas Synthetic Motorcycle Oil 20w50(Motorcycle specific, synthetic) Castrol Grand Prix Motorcycle Oil 20w50 (Motorcycle specific, conventional. Last resort) Oil drain plug: 42 Nm Oil mesh filter: 42 Nm Oil filter: 17 Nm

Wheels & Tires	Stock Tires Sizes 120/70-ZR17 Front 190/50-ZR17 Rear Popular Aftermarket Tires for the 996 Michelin Pilot Powers "If you still have the OEM 5.5″ rear wheel, mount a 180/55/17 on the rear. Why Ducati mounted a 190 on there in the first place is a mystery to everyone except probably one person in Bologna"
Tire Pressures	Front: 31.6 psi / 2.15 Bar Rear: 34.5 psi / 2.35 Bar
Wheels	Front wheel left-hand nut: 63 Nm Front-fork pinch bolts: 8×1.25, 19Nm Front brake disc screw: 8×1.25, 25 Nm Rear wheel, right-hand side, is held on by a single nut, which requires a 46mm flat-face socket to remove. Tightening torque: 157 Nm Rear wheel, left hand nut: 137 Nm
Spark plugs	Champion RA 59 GC Gap: 0.023 in / 0.6mm Thread: M12 x 1.25 Tightening torque: 20 Nm
